The flight details came out this week! so it's really happening... Training is going quite well, apart from the laziness :)
Scott and I spent an excellent day in Mid Wales at the Yamaha Offroad School - just an amazing day, riding a Yam 250 off road, through the hill, tracks, everything. All in all about 80 offroad miles in a day. Brilliant, but very tough, never fell off a bike so much in one day. The young apprentice (Scott) is clearly a million times better off road than me, so spent the day wheelie-ing and blasting around on a 450 at the front of the fast group, whilst I was mostly falling off somewhere in the middle of the group... oh well, still great fun and excellent practice for enduro.
We also had a day at the California Super bike school at Rockingham circuit. Although not quite so relevant for training, still a fantastic day. Can't say enough about the superbike day there, just get and do it.
Sponsorship is going quite well, reckon I'm still going to be about £1500 short with everything I know, so time for another big push now the summer (huh!) is here...
If you've yet to sponsor me, or don't know what this enduro thing is all about, get in touch
Welcome...
Dear All,
In November 2007 Scott (my brother) and I will be participating in one of the most physically and mentally challenging motorcycle trips through some of South Africa’s most rugged and isolated terrain, all in aid of the charity Riders for Health. In order to do this I need to raise £5000 in sponsorship, this money will help the children of South Africa lead a healthy normal life.
Enduro Africa is a unique and challenging motorbike adventure in aid of the charity Riders for Health. The trip involves 100 bikers from all over the world tackling 14 days of dusty and demanding riding. With backing from Ewan McGregor, Randy Mamola, John Reynolds, James Toseland, and Niall Mackenzie to name but a few, Enduro Africa aims to buy at least 100 Motorbikes and donate at least £50,000 for health workers in Zimbabwe.
The money raised for Riders for Health on this trip will help enable medical workers get to the children of Zimbabwe to deliver medical supplies and life saving treatment. Providing transport for the medical workers will help save lives of children throughout Zimbabwe
I will be participating in the 3500 kilometre challenge across demanding terrain at altitudes of up to 7000ft in November this year.
Now I need your support. If you work for a company that could sponsor me, please call me, or if you can sponsor me personally, please click on the 'Sponsor me' button ... its secure through PayPal, you don't need an account, just a debit or credit card.... Cheers Cookie :)
